K O - H U M is a Berlin based company which curates, develops and promotes stimulating projects by artists working across sound, music, visual and performing arts.
Through close dialogue with a range of collaborators, the company supports artists in releasing their works, facilitating performances and establishing authentic ventures with cultural institutions, bookings, media outlets and venues.
At the heart of the company's practice is a process-based relationship between artist and audiences, which seeks to give the projects space to find their own rhythm, public outputs, and discourse.
Founded in 2017, K O - H U M ’s core aim is to foster a dialogue between a range of disciplines by providing a platform where adventurous minds can encounter art that contextualizes, interprets, educates and expands culture, leading us to the edges of the contemporary experience.
ALVA NOTO - UNIEQAV LIVE TOUR (2017 - 2019)
MARKETING MANAGEMENT & COMMUNICATION
UNIEQAV is the latest music album and audio-visual performance from minimalist visual artist and composer Alva Noto.
Reducing electronic music to its mathematical fundamentals, UNIEQAV leads the audience into a stormy digital landscape, where glitchy electronic rumblings and synth thunderclaps cut through a cascade of white noise. This ambience is echoed in Alva Noto's accompanying video work, which turns scientific phenomena, like sound and light frequencies, into a hallucinatory video experience.
Alva Noto is Carsten Nicolai, an artist that blurs distinction between sound, art and science. His experiments with sound sculpture are documented on his record label, NOTON, where he zooms in on electronic sound to examine its microscopic architecture. Alongside his solo work, he has collaborated with Ryoji Ikeda (cyclo.), Blixa Bargeld and Ryuichi Sakamoto, with whom he composed the score to the 2015 film The Revenant.
